How Drops Work

WE DIE YOUNG doesn't hold inventory. The line runs in two layers: a permanent collection of core pieces that stays up, and limited drops that open for a fixed window and close for good. Either way, nothing you buy here was sitting in a warehouse — every piece is made because you ordered it.

Permanent

The core of the catalog. These pieces don't run on a countdown — they stay available, and each one is still made to order.

Limited Drops

Tied to a release or a night. A drop opens, takes orders for a fixed window, then closes. When it closes, it closes.

/ Limited Drop Cycle

How a limited drop runs

01

Open

Anyone can order while a drop is live. No invite list, no waiting room, no caps on quantity.

02

Close

When the window closes, it closes. We don't extend it, and we don't quietly reopen it later.

03

Made

Nothing exists on a shelf. Your piece is produced after the drop ends — because you ordered it, not before.

/ Why

We make what's ordered. Not what we hope sells.

Made-to-order isn't an excuse for slow shipping — it's the reason we never discount. No overproduction means nothing to clear out later. We'd rather ask you to wait a few weeks than ask you to accept a sale rack.

Limited drop integrity rules

  • Everyone can order during the window, in any quantity — no artificial scarcity, no invite-only lists.
  • The deadline is set before the drop opens and posted everywhere. We never move it, for any reason.
  • Lead times are shown worst-case. If it arrives sooner, that’s a bonus — never a promise we didn’t keep.
  • If a design ever comes back, we call it what it is: an archive reissue. We don’t restock quietly and pretend it’s new.

/ Questions

Permanent pieces are the core collection — no deadline, always orderable. Limited pieces exist only inside their drop window, usually tied to a release or an event. The product page always tells you which one you're looking at.
No. Once a drop closes, the window closes with it. We don't take late orders — that's the whole point of a deadline. Permanent pieces are the exception: they don't have one.
Undecided by default. Some pieces return as an archive reissue, most don't. If yours does, we'll say so openly — never a silent restock at a markup.
Production and shipping take 2–4 weeks — after you order for permanent pieces, after the window closes for limited drops. That number is our worst case, not our target — you’ll hear from us if anything runs long.
Because holding stock means guessing what will sell. Guess wrong and you end up discounting it later — and we don't do sales, ever. We make what's actually ordered. Nothing more.
